Robert “Rob” Palmer, 65, of Independence, MO passed away May 13, 2016 at his home. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 West Lexington,Independence, MO 64055. Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 10 am at the chapel. Burial will take place in Floral Hills Cemetery, Raytown, MO. Rob was born on October 30, 1950 in Independence, MO to Frank and Pauline (Johnson) Palmer. He retired after 30 years of service as a 1st Pressman with Midland Lithographing. Rob also owned and operated Delaware Printing in Independence, MO for over 20 years. He was a member of Teamsters Local #235, Elks Lodge, and the American Legion. Rob enjoyed golf, bowling, and shooting pool. With his loving wife by his side, they enjoyed traveling all over the world. Perhaps his favorite place was Puerto Vallarta. They also enjoyed road trips on their Harley’s. Wonderful memories were also made at their home on the Lake of the Ozarks. He enjoyed watching the KC Royals, listening to country music as well as the oldies. Rob also loved playing with his dogs, Paco “ the fat Chihuahua” and Harley the Scottish Terrier. Survivors include; wife of over 20 years, Christine Palmer; son Robert B. Palmer and his fiancé Mishia O’Dell; grandson Chance Palmer; sister Anita Penton; mother-in-law Norma Plumlee; several cousins and a large extended family. Rob is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jimmy Joe Johnson. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund or the American Diabetes Association
