Mark "Trimmer" Paris

Mark Douglas "Trimmer� Paris was born on March 16, 1953, in Kansas City, Missouri, died at home on Monday, May 29, 2006 surrounded by family and friends. He was the son of Tom and Mary Paris, of Independence, who preceded him in death. Mark was a lifelong resident of Independence and was a tree trimmer by trade and had previously worked at Armco Steel. Mark was also known for his volunteer work at Sycamore Hills Elementary, as well as working with the Powerhouse Theater & Independence Parks & Rec. Dept. in their Enchanted Forest production each year. He loved racing and was pit crew foreman for Braley Racing and for many years could be found at Lakeside Speedway and other local dirt tracks. Mark is survived by his wife, Diane, daughter Samantha, and sister & brother-in-law, Kim & Dennis Gage. Also surviving are step-daughters Twyla Craven & husband Shannon; Sarah Baber & husband Robby; and Amanda Woolery and four step-grandchildren. Mark is also survived by three nephews, Rob Gage & wife Maile, Corey Gage & Brandon Gage; one great-niece and one great-nephew. Services will be 10:00 am, Thu. Jun 1, 2006 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Indep. MO. Burial in Mount Washington Forever Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 - 8:30 pm Wednesday at the Chapel.
