Marjorie A. Parker, 77 of Independence, MO passed away, Jan 4, 2006. Services will be 2:00 pm, Sat. Jan 7, 2006 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Indep. MO. Burial in New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be 7 - 8:30 pm Friday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Diabetes Association. Marjorie was born on May 9, 1928 in Soldier, IA to Clara (Hill) and Del Baird. She was a devoted homemaker, a gifted baker of cakes, pies and cookies and was a talented seamstress, prior to failing eyesight. Marjorie cherished large family gatherings at her home to celebrate holidays and birthdays. She was a member of St. Mark�s United Methodist Church. Marjorie was preceded in death by her son, Roger L. Parker. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert W. Parker. Two daughters, Jane M. Perez and Robin J. Cargill, both of Independence. Two sons, John R. Parker of Union, KY and Alan W. Parker of Independence. Eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and two brothers, Bob Baird of Spirit Lake, IA and Bruce Baird of Arizona.
