Evelyn Parker, 76, of Independence, MO passed away June 25, 2016. Visitation will be from 6-7pm, Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Eastpoint Family Church, 3923 Pittman Rd, Kansas City, MO 64133. Memorial services will follow at 7pm at the Church. Evelyn was born on June 14, 1940 in Moberly, MO to Robert and Lillian (Summers) Prewitt. She relocated to the Independence area in 1958. Evelyn was a devoted wife and mother to her 4 children. She was a member of Eastpoint Family Church. Evelyn loved her church. She felt her greatest achievements were raising her children, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and most importantly her salvation. Evelyn loved reading her Bible and sharing the word. She passed away filled with peace and love. Heaven gained a new angel, as she celebrates the next journey! Evelyn recently moved into Heritage House where she thrived. She loved spending time with the other residents. It was with great sadness when she left due to her illness. Survivors include; daughter Cathy Morrison (David); son Lewis “Buster” Parker (Donna); daughter in law Sherl Parker Hockaday; son in law Ron Edwards; grandchildren Ronnie & Heather, Jordan & Sissy, and Robbie & Tiffani; great grandchildren Izzi, Malina, Mariah, and Ellie; a large circle of friends, and her church family. Evelyn is preceded is death by her parents, husband Lewis Parker, daughter Ollie Edwards, son Melvin Parker; and a granddaughter Melina Edwards.
