Stephen Garrett Parks

Stephen Garrett Parks, 62, Independence, MO passed away May 20, 2006. Services will be 10 am, Thursday, May 25, 2006 at Carson-Speaks Chapel; interment at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:30-8:30 pm, Wed. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the Argentine Assembly of God Church, 1200 S. 42nd Street, Kansas City, KS 66106. Stephen was born June 28, 1943 in Independence. He was an Air Force veteran. Stephen was an accomplished musician and avid aviator. He was a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather and uncle. He was preceded in death by his father Lawrence W. Parks, Sr. He is survived by sons Matthew S. Parks and wife Allison Levans, Gilbert, AZ; Andrew G. Parks and wife Michelle, Shawnee, KS; mother Fern E. Parks; brother Lawrence W. Parks, Jr. and wife Mary, all of Independence; sisters Patricia P. Benson, Kirksville, MO; Marilyn F. Tourtellotte, Locust Grove, VA, and grandchildren Tayler, Wilder, Mackenzie, Braden, and Lilia Parks.
