Patricia Ann Morris

August 8, 1937 — December 29, 2024

Patricia Ann Morris was born August 8th, 1937, to Leo and Agnes Ryan. She was the youngest of 4 children (Mickey, Evelyn, Leonard). Her mother, Agnes (Canary), an Irish immigrant, and Leo, raised Patricia (Pat) and her siblings in a traditional Irish/Catholic setting.

Patricia grew up in eastern Kansas City, attending St. Stephen's and Glennon High School.

Patricia had an active childhood like most kids. Some of her stories included swinging from vines at the local lake, playing allies, and watching the soldiers go off to war.  One of her life-changing memories was falling on a pop bottle while running. The injury put her a grade behind in school after spending months in the hospital.

One of her first jobs was working at the Aladdin Theater on Truman Road. This is where she met her future husband Charles.

Soon after graduating from Glennon High School, Patricia got a job at AT&T.  After several months, she was selected with several others to go to New York for a new project developing the telephone area codes that we still use today.

Patricia married Charles Edward Morris and had four children, Charles (Michael), Marsha, Mark and Patrick.  She was a stay at home mom, instilling Catholic values and a good work ethic in her children. Once the kids were in school at St. Mary's, she rejoined the workforce. She was a Sales Rep. for American Greetings and later Nestle. Patricia was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish and later St. Anns. Politically, Patricia was Elected Jackson County Committee Member 3 terms (1988-1994).
In her last career position, she served as office manager at Morris Periodontics for 20 years.

Patricia enjoyed cooking, dancing, reading, gardening and swimming with her grandchildren. Her Sunday pool feasts were well known. In later life, She and Charles cherished the yearly family vacation.  To her children and grandchildren, she was a North Star. We knew what was right and what was expected and that any gifts we received were from the Grace of God.

Patricia's passing marks the end of a family generation, having been preceded in death by all of her siblings as well as her husband Charles.
She leaves behind her children: Charles Michael Morris (Teresa), Marsha Deschepper (Ed), Mark Morris, and Dr. Patrick Morris (Sondra).
Her Grand Children: Alexis Nibert (John), Dr. Ashton Richards (Houston), Michael Morris (Sabrina), Tonya Valdepena
Her great grand children: Noah, Kenzi, Jensen, Arlington, Jase.
In-laws: Gloria Kelly, Patrick H Morris(Carol)
And many nieces and nephews who loved and cherished "Aunt Pat"!

A special 'Thank You' to Patricia's (and Charles) full-time care giver- Sondra Seymour Morris...
