Marvin R. Patterson

Marvin R. Patterson, 77, of Independence, MO, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2005 at North Kansas City Hospital. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2005 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel. Burial will take place in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. Marvin was born October 5, 1927 in Barren County, KY to Len R. and Hattie (Slinker) Patterson. He retired in 1989 from Deutz-Allis as an Assembler. Mr. Patterson was a man of the highest integrity and respect, and made many new friends while making deliveries for Ridgewood Donuts to churches and other retail businesses. Marvin enjoyed hunting and fishing with his grandsons and best friend, Bob Shireman. He loved to drink his first cup of coffee with his wife, Margaret, on the patio each morning. Marvin is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret (Bunch) Patterson; daughter Sharon Myers and son Rollin Patterson; grandchildren Kevin, Michael and Greg Myers, Kelley Sebastiano; great-grandchildren Justin Myers, Kason and Kyle Sebastiano, and Ryan Myers; son-in-law Larry Myers, daughter-in-law Shari Patterson; and a host of step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
