Charles G. Patton, 89, of Independence, MO passed away May 12, 2011 at North Kansas City Hospital. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO. Services at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at the chapel, with burial to follow at Mt. Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Charlie was born November 29, 1921 in Independence, MO to Walter and Hattie (Vaughn) Patton. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving during WWII. Charlie loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed fishing and gardening; but his greatest passion was spending time with his loving family. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Independence. Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Winona (Neely) Patton; three daughters, Janet Madsen (Gary), Diane Pittman (Larry), Lisa Talman (Jeff); one son, David Patton (Kathy); nine grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
