Nicholas John “Nick” Patton
Nicholas John Patton, of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022, with his sister watching over him. He slipped away peacefully. He was 69 years of age. Nicholas was born on August 29, 1953, the son of Nicholas and Rose (Preator) Patton. He is a graduate of William Chrisman High School. Nicholas was a huge Chiefs fan and enjoyed watching the Royals as well. He liked to listen to country music and had a sweet tooth for candy and Coca-Cola. He loved to read books, and watch the many videos sent to him by his family. He always had a big smile on his face wherever he was. He loved to attend church and he loved to bear his testimony. “I know the church is true, I love the church, and I love all of you, and I am so happy to be here!” He was always quick to express appreciation to others, and to jump up and tell someone they gave a great talk and shake their hand.
Nicholas was very sweet with a heart of gold and would give whatever he had to others. His family always meant a lot to him and he will be deeply missed.
Nicholas is survived by his siblings, Charlotte Christopher, Larry Patton, Patrick Patton; nieces and nephews, Terri Christopher, Chris Christopher, Shannon Miller, Tracy Hirrlinger, Shayne Patton, Tiffany Patton, Joshua Patton, Machael Vanderslice, Benjamin Vanderslice, Dustin Patton, many extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Rose Patton; sister, Nelletta Vanderslice; and niece, Kendra Patton.
A visitation will be held Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Carson Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO 64052. Family will greet guest between the hours of 6-7 pm. A graveside service will take place on Friday, September 23, 2022, at 10am, at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens in Independence, MO.
