Shirley Ann Patton (Wetherell)

Shirley Patton, 83, Blue Springs, MO, formerly of Independence, passed away June 16, 2014. Services will be 2 pm, Friday, June 20 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055; interment at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Thursday at the chapel. The family requests contributions to The Groves Hospice, 1415 W. White Oak, Independence, MO 64050. Shirley was born July 27, 1930 in Joplin, MO and graduated from Joplin High School. She was a member of the 39th Street Church of Christ. She enjoyed collecting clowns, baking cakes (she loved cooking) and crocheting. Most of all she loved her children, and grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Jack Patton in 2008. She is survived by her children Perry Patton and wife Deanna; Mark Patton and wife Barb; Jackie Hildebrand and husband Mike; Linda Stewart and husband Eric; Polly Thomson and husband J.D.; Kelly Stewart and husband Darryl; Steve Patton and wife Chris; fourteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
