Pauline M. (Crincoli) Mundy, 86, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at her home in Independence, Missouri surrounded by her family.
Polly was born May 20, 1937, in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She graduated from Jonathan Dayton Regional High School on June 22, 1955 in Springfield, New Jersey. She joined the United States Woman's Corp (WAC) in July 1955 working as clerical staff. She achieved the rank of Specialist 4th Class. While she was stationed in Munich, Germany, she met her husband, John Mundy who became the love of her life. They were married in a Chapel in Perlacher Forst, Munich, Germany on February 8,1958. Polly was honorably discharged from the Army in August 1958. Shortly thereafter they began their family. Polly was a homemaker who was well known for her love of baking pies. She was an amazing wife that supported her husband John's ministry in the church and a fabulous mother that was always there for her four children. She was always taking them to school activities, summer ball, Boy Scouts and any other activities that a mom could help with.
She was baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Grand Junction, Colorado in 1959. Polly and John moved to Zion in Independence, Missouri in 1964 where they attended the Atherton RLDS congregation. Polly and her husband John were charter members and attended Church at the Church of Jesus Christ, Missionary Restoration Branch and she lived in Independence the rest of her life.
She is survived by her husband, John L. Mundy of 65+ years of the home; four children, Pamela Abel (Martin), John Mundy (Lori), Brian Mundy (Anne), Allen Mundy (Kari). Three sisters, Antoinette Mellage, Nancy Genna (Vincent), and Millie Shaughnessy all in New Jersey and two very special sisters, Susan Smedal and Pamela Capurso (Paul) of Brooksville, Maine. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; Eddie Dudley, Julie Dudley, LeAnn Debetaz, Matthew Dudley, Melissa Alford, Amy Bazzell, Kyle Mundy, Brianne Joyce, Adam Mundy, Jacob Mundy, Jessica Mundy, John Allen Mundy and Aisha Booth; 28 great grandchildren here on earth and number 29, Amanda Mundy and number 30, Autumn McConnell, who both greeted her at Heaven’s gates; and many nieces, nephews and her church family.
The family will greet guests from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 20, 2023, at the Church of Jesus Christ, Missionary Restoration Branch, 3415 N. Elsea Smith Rd., Buckner, MO 64016. A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 10:00 am at the same location with burial to follow at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens Cemetery, 18301 E. Salisbury in Independence, MO 64056.
