David Neal Payne, 78, of Independence, MO passed away Sunday, March 23, 2008 at Centerpoint Medical Center. A visitation will be from 6-8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Services will be at 1:30 PM, Thursday at the Chapel with burial at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens.
David was born September 1, 1929 in Bay, AR to Claude and Mary Payne. He retired after 21 years serving in the U.S. Navy and then from the U.S. Postal Service. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, traveling to Branson, and watching western movies.
David was preceded in death by his wife, LaVonne, brother, J.L. Payne, and his parents. He is survived by five children: Valerie (Mike) Dahl, Randy (Pam) Payne, Jimmy Payne, Jeffrey (Chelli) Payne, and Tammy Price; five grandchildren: Lauren, Chris, Lindsey, Maddison, and Chandler; sister, Ruthel Sinclair; and brother, Lohnes Payne.
