Louis L. "Lou" Pennington

Louis L. "Lou:� Pennington, 67, of Independence, MO, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2006 after a courageous battle with leukemia. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 6, 2006 at the Calvary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Sunday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or to North Care Hospice. Louis was born December 4, 1938 in Hale, MO to Amos and Genevieve (Hockett) Pennington. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church (Independence) and a deacon of the church. He served his church in many positions and liked to work repairing and building projects. He loved his church and his church family. He and his son were in Y-Indian Guides for a few years, and he served as Chief of Santa Fe Nation of Independence and then War Chief of Santa Fe Nation of the Greater Kansas City area. He also worked with boy scouts and was a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He worked for TWA/PARS/WORLDSPAN for 31 years as a systems analyst and retired from WORLDSPAN in Dec. 1993. He also worked as a realtor for R & K Realtors and for the Blue Springs Parks & Recreation, fully retiring in 1998. He leaves to mourn: his wife of 43 years Marilyn "Kay� Pennington of the home; a daughter, Deborah Culver (Paul) of Independence, MO; a son, Randall Pennington (Shawne) of Sugar Creek, MO; 3 grandchildren, Allie & Sammy Culver and Trace Pennington; a brother Don Pennington (Shirley) of Merriam, KS; a sister, Mary Frances Moore (Jim) of S. Elgin, IL and many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews and many friends.
