Judith Ann Penyock, 82, Independence, MO passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 19 at Nativity of Mary Church; 10017 E. 36th Terr, Independence, MO. Burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A Parish Rosary at 6:30 p.m., followed by visitation from 7:00-9:00 p.m., Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Mary’s Manor. Judith was born April 21, 1930 in Independence, MO to John H. and Marie K. (Kerkering) Pott, II and has been a lifelong area resident graduating from Northeast High School in 1947. She had worked for AT&T and Southwestern Bell for a number of years until she retired in 1989 as an accounts receivable clerk. She had also worked at Western Electric. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, flower gardening, spending time at their lake home at the Lake of the Ozarks and most of all spending time with her family. She was a member of Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, where she was a former member in the Altar Society, the Telephone Pioneers and was a Gold Award Girl Scout. Survivors include; a daughter, Paula Schultz (Rick) of Independence; sons, Steve Penyock (Marcia) of Lee’s Summit; Frank Penyock (Cyndi) of Independence; eight grandchildren, Gretchen, Bob, Adam, Ron, Kim, Eric, Lindsey and Kasia; five great grandchildren; sister, Kathryn F. Pott of Independence, MO; a brother, Thomas W. Pott of Independence, MO, and numerous nieces, nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul R. Penyock in 2010, a sister, Mary E. Berislavich and a brother, John H. Pott III.
