Lois Irene Peppers, 88, of Independence, MO, passed away, Sunday, May 11, 2014 at her residence. Visitation will be from 10am to 12 pm Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055, followed by a graveside service at 12:30 p.m., Wednesday at the Oak Ridge Memory Gardens. Lois was born February 13, 1926 in Warrensburg, MO to Russell and Eula M. (Bell) Hornbuckle. She had worked as a switchboard operator for Southwestern Bell for a number of years in the early 1950’s. She was a beloved wife, mother and homemaker who enjoyed reading her bible. She was a member of the Blue Vue Chapel and had taught Sunday school. She was married to Howard E. Peppers who preceded her in death in 2005. Survivors include; 2 daughters, Joyce I. Couts and Linda G. Friend and her husband Rick all of Independence, MO; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Charlie and Joe.
