Luis Frias Perez, 76, of Independence, went home to his heavenly father on April 26, 2017 surrounded by his loved ones.
Luis was preceded in death by his father Luis Perez, mother Serapia Frias Perez, brothers Gregorio Perez and Jesse Perez, son David Perez, and daughter Sarah Perez.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Sandy Perez of Independence, MO; son, Andres (Zulema) Perez of Chicago, IL, daughter, Patricia (Armando) Perez of Chicago, IL; 8 step-children, 14 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Luis worked for ARI for 39 years, retiring in 2003. He had a passion for gardening, He enjoyed selling his vegetables at the local farmers market in Independence. He spent many seasons there making new friends and seeing old ones that he hade made throughout the years. I don’t think Luis ever knew a stranger. He opened his heart and home to everyone he met.
A celebration of life will be at 2:00 p.m. on May 21, 2017 at Lake Jacomo Shelter #3. There will be a potluck dinner following the service. Meat and beverages provided.
