John Peryea, 72, of Independence, MO passed away on September 4, 2005 at the Medical Center of Independence. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 9, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. The service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the chapel. Burial at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO. Contributions may be made to the Waldo Restoration Branch, Independence, MO. John Peryea was born on February 4, 1933 in Altona, NY to Nelson and Maria Peryea. He was a veteran of the United States Engineer Corps, serving during the Korean War. He also went on to serve in the National Guard and Naval Reserves. For the last 25 years, John had been in the Priesthood, currently attending the Waldo Restoration Branch, Independence, MO. He was preceded in death by one son, Don Leslie Peryea. John is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rosy Peryea; one son, John Peryea and wife Lori; four grandchildren, Steven Peryea and wife Johanna, Heather Castillo and husband Joe, Adam Peryea and wife Janine, and Darcy Peryea; 9 great grandchildren; three sisters; and two brothers.
