Peter Keith Anderberg, known affectionately as Ande, peacefully passed away on October 28, 2023, in Independence, Missouri. Born on February 17, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, Peter lived a life filled with unwavering faith, dedication to his family, and a passion for serving others.
Ande's journey began when he graduated from Notre Dame High School in Chicago. It was during his time in the Air Force that he met the love of his life, Linda. Their deep connection blossomed into a beautiful union as they exchanged vows on November 27, 1960. Together they built an extraordinary life centered around love and shared values.
Throughout his remarkable career, Ande demonstrated his unwavering dedication to God and his community. For over 40 years, he faithfully served as a Deacon, embodying the principles of compassion and generosity. His commitment extended beyond the spiritual realm; Peter also worked as a respected mechanic and owned his own business that employed over 30 dedicated individuals.
A man of many talents and interests, Peter had an infectious enthusiasm for life that touched everyone he encountered. He was known for his friendly nature and enjoyed engaging conversations with friends old and new. Ande's stories and jokes lit up any room he entered, leaving those around him with joy-filled memories that will be treasured forever. Ande's true happiness radiated when surrounded by his beloved family. He adored his wife Linda with all his heart and cherished every moment spent alongside her. Together they created an environment filled with love, support, and laughter for their children and grandchildren. In addition to being a devoted husband and father figure, Ande actively coached his son's soccer team during their younger years, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of each player. Ande's compassionate spirit extended beyond his family and hobbies. He served as a dedicated volunteer fireman for the county and shared his time with those in need. His acts of kindness continued as he brightened the days of those in local nursing homes by bringing flowers to spread joy and uplift spirits. One of Ande's great pleasures in life was indulging in sweet treats alongside loved ones. His admiration for cars was evident to all who knew him, as he took immense pride in his knowledge and passion for automotive craftsmanship. As a proud holder of his Irish heritage, Ande embraced his culture wholeheartedly, ensuring that it remained a vibrant part of his life.
Ande is preceded in death by his parents; Russell F. and Mary Margaret Kathleen Anderberg, his twin sister; Nancy Murray, his brother; Russ Anderberg, his sister; Donna McCleary, and his daughter; Pam Anderberg. He is survived by his beloved wife; Linda Anderberg, his son; Keith Anderberg (Joan), and his grandsons; Peter Anderberg III (Laura) and Noah Anderberg.
