Leland Lynn Peters, 82, Independence, MO passed away Monday, January 7, 2013.
Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2013 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens with Military Honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Leland was born September 22, 1930 near Romance, MO the son of Sherman and Zelma (Melton) Peters. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during the Korean War. Leland retired as a supervisor in 1988 from National Box Folding Company and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Raytown.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lola in 2010 and his parents.
Survivors include his daughters, Linda M. Eggers, and Brenda L. Warren; grandchildren, Darren L. Wooten, Daniel A. Wooten, Trevor A. Warren and his favorite granddaughter, Alyssa B. Warren; brothers, Robert and William Peters; and numerous nieces, nephews and family.
