Lucille Peterson, 91, of Raytown, MO, passed away Wednesday, January 25th at St. Joseph Medical Center. Services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 29th at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 2-3:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 30th in Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation and the American Heart Association. Lucille was born July 4, 1914 in Kansas City, KS to John Jerome and Mary Emma (Love) Wiss. She worked for Sears and Roebuck Co. and Montgomery Ward prior to returning to Lake City Ammunition Plant. Lucille retired in 1976 after working for 25 years as a Supervisor of Inspections. Mrs. Peterson loved her family and recognized each and every birthday, anniversary or celebration in a very special way. Most recently Lucille was active with the local YMCA in Raytown in water aerobics. Lucille is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Jim and Arleen Peterson of Goliad, TX; grandchildren Ron and Shauna Peterson of Charlotte, NC, Gaye and John Leonard of Greenwood Village, CO, Craig Peterson of Atlanta, GA; great-grandchildren Bryce, Jim and Will Leonard, James McRae Peterson; special family friend Pam Sitter. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Lee C. Peterson in 1986.
