Paul "Pete" Peterson

Paul "Pete� Peterson 85, of Independence, MO passed away April 20, 2006 at the Medical Center of Independence. Services will be 10:00 am Thursday, April 27, 2006, at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Interment Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 7-8:30 pm Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to KU Medical Cancer Research or the American Diabetes Association. Pete was born August 26, 1920 in St. Joseph, MO to William and Minnie (Green) Peterson. He proudly served his country in the Air Force during WWII. A master electrician by trade, Pete was a long time member in good standing with the IBW. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Lea who preceded him in death in 1982. Pete was a history lover and enjoyed several books on the subject. Left to mourn his passing is his son Dale Wharton and wife Reta, of Independence. Other survivors include his brother Michael Peterson on Iowa, 2 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. Pete is also preceded in death by his parents, and 2 grandsons.
