Robert B. Petrovic, 90, Independence, MO passed away Jan. 8, 2011. Services will be 7:30 pm, Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO. Visitation will begin at 5:30 pm prior to the service. Private committal services at Woodlawn Cemetery will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, 11001 Greenwood St., Lenexa, KS 66215.
Robert was born Jan. 7, 1921 in Kansas City, MO. He graduated from William Chrisman High School and retired from Bendix Corp. after twenty-three years. He was a member of the church and a longtime member and Past President of Parents Without Partners. He loved life, his family and playing cards with his buddies. Bob was a kind and gentle man who, as a single parent, raised three daughters. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. He married Mary Ann, the love of his life on Jan. 18, 1987.
Bob is survived by his wife Mary Ann Petrovic, of the home; daughters Alexis Brockett and husband Burt, Blue Springs, MO; Alana Admire and husband Woody, Independence, MO; Anita Fletcher and husband Larry, Trenton, MO; step-daughters Carla Ligon and husband Jack, Independence, MO; Karen Wilkie, Lead, SD; brother Alex Petrovic, Sugar Creek, MO; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
