Nikki Pettrey

Nikki Jean (Garcia) Pettrey, 42, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2014 at her parent’s home in Lee’s Summit, MO. She was born December 15, 1971 in Kansas City, MO, grew up in Grandview and graduated from Grandview High School in 1990. She moved to Painesville, OH 16 years ago and married Calvin Pettrey. Nikki touched countless lives and will be remembered for her selfless compassion. She is survived by her husband, Calvin Pettrey; her son, Christopher Stathopoulos; 3 stepchildren, Michael, Vanessa and Kyle Pettrey; her parents, Ronda and Eddie Garcia; her brother, Chris Garcia (Ilene); her sisters, Jamie Sims, Andrea Ruse (Kevin), Kristen Choate (Steve) and Kathryn Alexander (Ryan); her grandmother, Roberta Garcia; 3 step grandchildren; 6 nephews and 2 nieces. She was preceded in death by her father, James Hernandez. Cremation is planned. The family will greet family and friends from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday evening, July 29, 2014, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055 with a memorial service to follow.
