Geneva “Genny” Hope Phillips Littrell, 77, Independence, MO passed away Nov. 24, 2012. Services will be 10 am, Tuesday, Nov. 27 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055; interment at Spring Hill Cemetery, Spring Hill, KS. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Monday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Mission Adelante on behalf of Drew Hammond, 22 S. 18th St., Kansas City, KS 66102 – make sure to write the code “LO1” on the memo line of checks.
Genny was born Sept, 9, 1935 in Houston, TX. After high school she graduated from John Brown University with a B.S. in Secretarial. She moved to Prairie Village, KS upon graduation and was married to Bob Phillips in May, 1959. She worked as a secretary at Bob’s insurance business, helped teach the youth group at Southwest Bible Church, then worked at the Jones Store in Prairie Village for over fifteen years before retiring in 1988. She will be remembered as always being a cheerful and positive person.
Genny was preceded in death by her first husband Bob Phillips in 2000. She is survived by husband Bob Littrell, Independence, MO; daughters Kathy Rodenberg and husband Tom, Blue Springs, MO; Julie Hammond and husband Aaron, Mission, KS; son Steve Phillips and wife Lauri, Independence MO; brother Harlan Aylor and wife Ann, Mission, KS; eight grandsons and a granddaughter
