Morene E. Phillips

Morene E. Phillips, 91, formerly of Independence, MO, passed away on Monday, May 10, 2004 at the Park Place Care Center, Georgetown, TX. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, with burial at Blue Springs Cemetery. The visitation will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. on Friday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Methodist Church of Independence. Morene was born on September 18, 1912 in Polo, MO to Clarence and Ethel (Miller) Varner. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Ray Phillips; and her brother, Miller Varner. Morene is survived by two children, Patricia with husband Fred Hilgeman, and Bill with wife Jami Phillips; one sister, Madeline Madison; grandchildren, Susan Moreno, Dennis Hilgeman, Karen with husband Tim Denby, Mike Hilgeman, Kristen Busha, Kari with husband Steve Kouzan, and Kami with husband Karl Breuckmann; two neices, Judy Madison, and Margaret with husband Robert Cravens, along with their children, Shelly with husband George Koron, and Cameron with wife Dixie Cravens; many other neices and nephews; 7 great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; and 2 step great grandchildren.
