Roberta Ruth “Bobbie” Phillips, 81, of Sugar Land, TX formerly of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013 in Houston, TX.
Bobbie was born January 21, 1932 in Versailles, MO the daughter of Robert and Iota Belle (Huff) Ellis. She moved at an early age with her family to Independence and was a 1950 graduate of William Chrisman High School. Bobbie was a homemaker and was a loving care giver to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed watching sports, playing bridge and golf. In 1986 she moved to Houston, TX with her husband.
She is survived by her loving husband, Harold F. Phillips; sons, Robert “Tim” Phillips and wife Linda, Thomas F. Phillips and wife Karen; daughters, Susan Vader and husband Larry and Sally Partida and husband Johnny; grandchildren, Jennifer, Ashleigh, Ryan, Tara, Holly, Drew, Adam, Jacob, and Jonathan; five great grandchildren; sister, Peggy Morton and husband Joe; and additional nieces, nephews, and family. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Wanda Neef, Chloe Hirst, and Patty Hazelrigg and her parents.
Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 26, 2013 at Speaks Suburban Chapel; 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens.
