Stanley Winfred “Stan” Phillips, Jr., of Kansas City, a man who loved to fish and mine for sapphires, passed away on May 23, 2021. He was 76 years old. Stan was born on February 1, 1945 in El Centro, California, to Stanley and Gladys Phillips. He proudly served in the Vietnam War and was in the United States Navy for 4 years. He worked as a computer soldering technician in the Kansas City area for about 20 years. Stan enjoyed fishing, sapphire digging, cross stitching, computer gaming and watching boxing and he will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Peggy Phillips; daughters, Susan (Tom) Hines and Jayne Thornsbery; stepson, Eric (Megan) Fisher and grandchildren, Keegan Hines, and Jerimiah, Addie, and Olivia Fisher and Anthony and Lacie. He was preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Gladys Phillips. Cremation is planned, and the family will be having a private ceremony at his final resting place in Montana to honor Stan.
