Veta Phillips

Passed away on July 10, 2014. Veta is preceded in death by her parents Bill and Iva Lindsey, her husband of 54 years, Bob Phillips, her Great Granddaughter, Leona Buckingham, 6 sisters, and 2 brothers. She is survived two daughters, Diana Buckingham and Pennie Phillips (Jody Bennett), 2 sons, Ed Phillips (Sandy Henderson) and David Phillips (Lora Phillips), 3 grandchildren, Jimmy Buckingham (Nancy Kilgore), Melody Buckingham (Derek Paris) and Lindsey Mallinson (John Mallinson), great grandson, Michael Buckingham, great granddaughters Zoe and Paige Evans, her faithful companion Rudy, all of Independence, and her sister Sadie Love of Holden, MO. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 13, 2014 from 7-9pm, and funeral service on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 1pm at the Carson-Speaks Funeral Home at 1501 W. Lexington, Independence, MO.
