Virginia L. Phillips

Virginia L. Phillips, 80, of Independence, MO, passed away Friday, February 13, 2004 at Rosewood Health Center. Services will be 10:00 am Monday February 16, 2004 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Visitation will be 7-9:00 pm Sunday February 15th at the chapel. Burial will take place in Mound Grove Cemetery. Virginia was born March 10, 1923 in Pittsfield, IL to William Ira and Lucy Louisa (Turner) Fleeharty. Mrs. Phillips was the Worship Center Coordinator at the South Crysler Restoration Branch Church. She was a secretary in the Independence School District from 1964 until 1975 at William Southern and Alton elementary schools. Mrs. Phillips is survived by three sons; Mike and Helen Phillips of Lee�s Summit, MO, Douglas and Joyce Phillips of Lone Jack, MO, David and Betty Phillips of Independence, MO; a sister Bernice Holmes of Independence, MO; 4 granddaughters, 4 grandsons; 7 great-granddaughters and 2 great-grandsons; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Merrill in 1995 and was so thankful for her church family who sustained her life even greater after his death.
