Milton Emile Piper, 61, of Independence, passed away November 17th, 2017. A visitation will be held Saturday, November 25th from 9-10:00am with a service following at 10:00am. Both will be held at Open Arms Community of Christ, 1021 W. College Ave., Independence, MO 64050.
Milton was born April 2, 1956 in Bentonville, AR, to Charles Emile Theodore Piper and Pauline Agnes Clark.
After his father’s death, he and his mother moved to Kansas City, MO where he attended East High School. He went on to attend Oregon State, studying photo journalism. He then returned to the Kansas City area and received a degree in electronics at DeVry where he met his future wife, Glenda Veronica Peters.
Milton and Glenda were married on March 7, 1981 and had two children: Nathan Glen and Preston Emile. He worked for many years as an electrician lastly at Ford Motor Company.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, boating, reloading, telling stories and spending time with his family. He was a good man with a big heart, willing to help out almost anyone.
Milton is survived by his wife Glenda; son Nathan; grandchildren: Adrian Piper, Alexander Piper and Camron Stine; sister Dorothy (Bobby) Llewellyn; sisters-in-law: Wanda Piper, Connie Piper and Young Piper and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; son Preston; brothers: Charles, Carl, Theron and Gailard; and sisters: Mary and Euphama.
