Jess Robert “Buzz” Pittman, Jr., of Blue Springs, MO, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospice House surrounded by family. Cremation is planned with a memorial gathering of friends and family will be held from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Independence, MO 64055. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the St. Luke’s Hospice House 3516 Summit St., Kansas City, MO 64111. Buzz was born April 6, 1950 in Martin City, MO to Jess R. and Wanda Lou (Hutton) Pittman, graduating from Grandview High School in 1968. He had worked as a millwright, most recently, for Automatic Systems Inc. for several years until he retired in 2005. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, spending time working on his lake property and most of all attending events and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Millwright Union Local #1529. Survivors include; his loving wife Gladys “Pearl” Pittman of the home; 3 sons, Jess R. Pittman III of Kansas City, MO, Tony Pittman and wife Mica and Austin Pittman and wife Shelley all of Blue Springs, MO; a brother, Mike Pittman and wife Carol Ann of Grandview, MO; 2 sisters, Carol Sue Blackmore and husband Dick of Grandview, MO and Eileen Beals and husband Larry of San Antonio, TX; 7 grandchildren, Jess, Tyler, Courtney, Gaige, John, Alich and Eli; 2 step grandchildren, Kayla and Arielle and 3 step great grandchildren, Brody. Oliver and Walter. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sandy Cole.
