James I. "Jim" Plain

James I. Plain, 82, of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, March 12th at Independence Regional Health Center. Services will be 11:00 am Thursday, March 17th at Carson-Speaks Chapel. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at 10:00 am. Burial will be in Mound Grove Cemetery. Jim was born June 16, 1922 in Independence, MO to Christopher and Isbelle (Peters) Plain. Mr. Plain retired in 1980 from KCP&L after 34 years of service. He enjoyed traveling, bowling, fishing and playing bingo in his spare time. Jim was known for his gardening of tomato�s and other fresh vegetables. Mr. Plain is survived by his wife of 63 years, Alice (Raveill) Plain; daughter Martha Plain, both of the home; 2 granddaughters; 10 great-grandchildren; brother Frederick M.
