Joseph D. "Don� Pleacher, 71 of Oak Grove, MO passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at St. Luke�s Hospital. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 12:30 until service Friday at the chapel. Donations may be made to the American Heart Association Don was born August 6, 1935 in Independence, MO and graduated from William Chrisman in 1953. Mr. Pleacher was a career military man having served for over 25 years in the U.S. Army during the end of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was stationed at Ft. Leavenworth, and had tours of duty in Korea, Germany and Japan. He had been a ROTC instructor for the University of Wyoming as well. He retired from the military in 1977 and went to work at the Kansas City VA Hospital in administration from 1977-84 when he retired due to health reasons. He was a member of the Blue Springs Post #499 American Legion and the St. George Serbian Orthodox Church. He enjoyed working in his yard and gardening. He was married to Emma (Murdock) in 1956, she survives of the home. Other survivors include; a son, Joe Pleacher, Jr and his wife Teresa of Bates City, MO; 2 daughters, Louvica Lindsay and her husband Bill of Victor, NY and Donna McNair and her husband Russell of Oak Grove, MO; 8 grandchildren, Eric McNair and his wife Chenelle of Warrensburg, MO and Jeff McNair of Oak Grove, MO, Allen, Ashley, Marie and Brian Lindsay of Victor, NY, ReAnna and Milan Pleacher of Bates City, MO; 2 great grandchildren, Aaron and Abigail McNair of Warrensburg, MO.
