Charles G. Ploeger, 77, of Independence, MO passed away September 15, 2013. A visitation will take place from 12:30 p.m.-2:00 p.m. followed by a 2:00 p.m. service on Friday, September 20, at Christ United Methodist Church, 14506 E. 39th St. South, Independence, MO. Burial will be held at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Charles was born January 5, 1936 in Independence, MO to Olin and Ruth (Schroder) Ploeger. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Charles was a proud Warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, and was a lifetime member of Christ United Methodist Church. He was a loving, devoted and patient husband, father and “Poppy”, who will be dearly missed. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Joann Ploeger; three children, Steven Ploeger, Nancy Hockman and John Ploeger; three grandchildren, Megan Hockman, Kelly Ploeger and Dylan Hockman; one great grandson, Maddox Walts; six brothers, Keith (Barbara), Donald, Ralph (Debbie), Warren (Leslie) and Henry (Ruth); as well as many other loving family members and friends.
