Gilbert S.C. Ploeger

Gilbert S.C. Ploeger, 87, of Blue Springs, passed away, Tuesday, December 2, 2003 at St. Mary�s Manor in Blue Springs, MO. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 6, 2003 at the Speaks Suburban Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Kansas City, MO. The family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m., until service time Saturday morning at the chapel. Memorials may be made to the Shriner�s Crippled Children�s Hospital. Gilbert was born January 16, 1916 in Robinson, KS to Henry and Juliet (Schowengerdt) Ploeger. He was a farmer in his early life before moving to Independence in 1959 to be a salesman at Buell Cabinet Company and latter owned and operated his own cabinet and appliance company in Blue Springs until his retirement in 1978. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Ararat Shrine Temple. He belonged to the Highland Christian Church in Highland, KS and the Blue Ridge Christian Church in Independence serving as deacon and was awarded Deacon Emeritus. He was married to Hazel Buell on April 12, 1936, she survives of the home. Survivors include; a daughter, JuliAnn E. Schwope of Blue Springs; a son, Carl W. Ploeger of Valley View, TX; a brother, Gerald Ploeger of Blue Springs, MO; a sister, Evangeline Constable of Raytown, MO; 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
