Juanita Poe

Juanita Poe, 93, of Independence, MO passed away December 23, 2015 surrounded by family after a short illness. A visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Carson-Speaks Chapel 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, MO, 64052. Graveside services will be held at Sycamore Cemetery in Miller, MO at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2015. Juanita was born July 12, 1922 in Pierce City, MO to David and Emma Hunnell. She retired from Western Electric and later was a volunteer at Children’s Mercy Hospital. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Independence, MO and loved working in the yard and planting flowers. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Perry. Her survivors include 2 children; Jackie Merchant of Independence, MO, and David N. Poe of Independence, MO; 1 sister, Mary Baucom of Tulsa, OK; 1 brother, Jerry Hunnell and wife Naomi of Springfield, MO; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
