Rodney Gene Pope

Rodney Gene Pope, 51, of Independence, passed away Fri, Oct 7, 2005 at the Independence Regional Health Center. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Mon. Oct 10, 2005 at Mt. Washington Forever Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 - 8:30 pm Sunday at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 Lexington Ave, Indep. MO. Rodney was born on Feb 17, 1954 to John & Veneda (Hawkins) Pope in Independence, MO. He had been formerly employed at Sprint for 22 years. Rodney is survived by five children, Jennifer Barrett and husband Jonathan of Independence, John Pope and wife Regina of Colorado, Jessica Pope stationed with the US Army, Erin Wilbers of Jefferson City and Michael Pope of Jefferson City. Four grandchildren, Nicole Young, Bradley Young, Devon Pope and Dylan Pope. One brother, Mark Pope of Independence and a cousin, Karen Scribner of Independence.
