Alexandria Jaclyn “Alex” Porter, a beautiful soul, was called home on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. She was 26. Alex was born to Gregory and Angela Porter on July 8, 1995 in North Kansas City, Missouri.
Alex grew up in Independence, Missouri and graduated from Truman High School in 2013. She then continued her education at Blue River Community College and obtained her CNA. Alex spent 2 years dedicating her time at Liberty hospital caring for others. Alex was a selfless person, fiercely loyal and never missed an opportunity to help or give to others. She loved to travel all over the world. Alex was able to see places such as Europe, the Caribbean and her favorite destination, Hawaii. She had become certified in scuba diving at age 15 and was able to see some incredible views from the ocean within. Alex enjoyed shopping, watching crime documentaries and cooking shows, had a soft spot for all animals and above all had a fascination with Jeeps. She was sassy, quick witted and craved adventure. Alex will be missed beyond measure by her family and friends.
She is survived by her beloved companion, Brian Lackey; mother, Angela Cooper (Jon); father, Gregory Porter (Shelley); half brother, Nathan Porter; step brother, Nathan Cooper; step sister, Sydney Burrus; step grandfather, Art Jimenez and furry companions, Frankie, Mookie and Beau.
Alex is preceded in death by her grandparents; Vasca Jimenez; John Porter, Jack and Kathleen Small.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 11, 2022 at 2pm at Mound Grove Cemetery. The family will accept friends at the Belvoir Winery on Monday, July 11th from 6:30-9pm for Alex’s celebration of life.
