Kathryn Florence “Kay” Pott, 85, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, May 15th, 2022.
A visitation will be held from 10:00-10:45am with The Rosary at 10:45am on Friday, May 27th, 2022. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00am, all at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, 10017 E 36th Terr Independence, MO 64052. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Raytown, MO.
Kathryn was born on October 17, 1936, to John and Marie (Kerkering) Pott in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1953, she graduated from Northeast High School. Shortly after, she began working at AT&T where she was employed as an Order Typist for 37 years before retiring. Kathryn had a beautiful voice and used her gift to sing in the choir at her beloved Nativity of Mary Catholic Church, where she had attended since 1958. She also enjoyed serving in the Altar Society. In her free time, she loved to work in the yard, enjoyed bowling and snow skiing, and attending Chief’s games as a season ticket holder.
Kathryn is survived by sixteen very beloved nieces and nephews; numerous great, great-great, and even great-great-great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, John Henry III (Alice) Pott, Mary (Mike) Berislavich, Thomas (Velma) Pott, Judith (Paul) Penyock; and her nephews, Michael Thomas Pott and John Henry Pott IV.
