Linda Sue Pottberg
Linda Sue Pottberg, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Tuesday May 31, 2022. She was 73 years old.
Linda was born in Independence, Missouri and resided in Buckner Missouri for many years. She graduated from Fort Osage High School and earned her Bachelor’s Degree at Park University. In elementary school Linda met a classmate by the name of Robert Pottberg, as time moved on their friendship turned into high school sweethearts and not too long after completing school Robert and Linda united in marriage, from their union came two sons, Steve and Bryan. Linda worked in payroll at Lake City Ammunition Plant a number of years before retiring. She was a member of Jobe’s Daughters, Independence Young Matrons, and the Ladies Auxiliary for the fire department, all of which she loved being a part of. Linda could be known for making breads and cinnamon rolls and delivering them to the fire department. She and Robert loved to travel and went many places together making great memories. Most of all, Linda loved her family, she adored her grandchildren and her family adored her. She was a beautiful woman and will be deeply missed.
Linda is survived by her husband Robert Pottberg; son, Steve (Elaine) Pottberg; grandchildren, KarLeigh, Braden, Grant, Natalie; great grandchild, Cora; sister, Patsy (Pat) McCullough; stepsisters, Bonnie Evilsizer, Lisa Murphy; extended family and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, E.H. “Bob” Baldus and Mary (Lett) Baldus; stepmother, Wathena Baldus; and her beloved son Bryan Pottberg.
A Visitation and Funeral service will be held Tuesday June 7, 2022, both at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street, Independence, MO 64055. Family will greet guest between the hours of 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Linda will be laid to rest in Buckner Hill Cemetery in Buckner, Missouri, directly following the service.
