Edgar Eugene (Huey) Pounds, 87, passed away at Wilshire at Lakewood Dec. 18, 2017. He was born May 4, 1930 to Carlton and Marie Pounds. He was preceded in death by his wife MaryLou, and brother Robert Pounds. He is survived by his brother Dwayne Pounds, Port Charlotte, FL, and children (Susan) and Richard Chandler, Lakeland, FL, Tim Pounds, KC, MO, (Joyce) and Dick Anderson, Lee's Summit, MO, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Huey graduated from East High School in 1949 earning the "Social Lion" award, a coveted honor he truly lived by his entire life. He enjoyed helping plan every reunion thereafter. Everyone who knew him loved him. He had a cheerful and positive attitude his whole life. Huey worked for Croft Trailer from the age of 10 until 1960 when he owned and operated Croft Rental Inc., KC, KS. During his early retirement, he enjoyed actively attending the Cardiac Rehab Center at Blue Springs Hospital. At Wilshire, he enjoyed all the banter with the staff. We would especially like to Thank Teresa Jackson, CNA, for her dedication, special care, and hard work caring for our dad. The Visitation will be from 12-2pm followed by The Rosary on Sat., Dec. 23rd at Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th St., Indep., MO. The private burial will be Tuesday at Mount Olivet Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ascend Hospice services of Lees Summit.
