Jimmie Powers

August 30, 1930 — November 4, 2014

Jimmie R. Powers, 84, peacefully passed away on November 4th, 2014. The family will be celebrating his life during a private ceremony. Jimmie was born August 30, 1930 in Springfield, MO to M. Marie & Ray Powers. He was a loving and supportive father to his children and grandchildren, and a caring husband who had a passion for woodworking, the outdoors, and coaching baseball. After high school, Jimmie joined the Air Force where he served as a Staff Sergeant. In 1957, he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree at Southwest Missouri State College. Jimmie dedicated a 30-year career to the Internal Revenue Service where he received numerous awards and served in multiple capacities including seven separate Chief positions, retiring as Chief of the Intelligence Department.
