Richard Allen Pratt, 74, passed away on February 16, 2016. A private graveside inurnment with military honors will be held at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens at a later date.
Richard was born March 30, 1941, in Kansas City, MO, to Louis Matthew and Gladys Lenore (Nichols) Pratt. He moved to California when he was 15, and enlisted in the US Army when he was 18. He was honorably discharged after six years of serving his country. He spent the majority of his adult life in the San Fernando Valley area working as a manager for ITT General Control, but moved to Independence, MO, in 2013. Richard never passed up an opportunity to go fishing, and loved to spend tranquil hours on the water. His family also wishes to express their deep appreciation for his loving care he showed his two sisters, Charlene and Nadine, during their times of need.
Richard will be missed by his three children: Laurie, of Colorado, Daniel, of Washington, and Rick, of Mississippi; sister, Charlene Moran, of Independence, MO; brother, Robert Pratt, of Simi Valley, CA; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Marie Shepard, Edward Pratt, and Nadine Moulder.
Richard’s smile, laughter, generosity, thoughtfulness and caring ways will be greatly missed by family and friends. With love.
