Teddy Joe Price passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 2, 2021 after a yearlong battle with a rare mitochondrial genetic disorder called DNM1L. He was surrounded by his family. Teddy was 6 years old. He was born in Springfield, Missouri on August 7, 2014 to Patrick and Hannah Price.
Teddy was a vibrant little boy who loved anything to do with water. He enjoyed lake trips with his family, spending time at the pool and was a good swimmer. Teddy had a fascination for trucks and cars. The Make a Wish Foundation recently coordinated a drive by parade that included many different service vehicles, trucks and show cars in his honor. Teddy could light up a room, loved spending time at the park with his family and could recite every scene from his favorite movie Coco. His sweet spirit will be missed dearly.
Teddy is survived by his parents; his brother, Aiden Mathewson; sister, Kensington Price; grandparents, Chris Mathewson (Margo) and Tracy Meador (Harry Lukens); aunts, Abby Mathewson, Kaycie Lukens; uncle, Ian Mathewson; great-grandparents, Senator James Mathewson, Marie Bingaman, Susan Daniels, Kathy Maxwell and Leonard Meador (Cheryl).
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Teddy “TJ” Price; great-grandparents, Doris Mathewson, Vernon Bingaman, Peter Daniels, Barbara Price and Carol Price.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 9-11am at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Missouri. Teddy’s memorial service will begin at 11am.
