John Pritchard

John L. Pritchard, 83, went to be with the Lord Jesus on Monday, August 25, 2008, from his home in Independence, MO. John was born August 23, 1925 in Kansas City, MO, to L.Z. and Verna Pritchard. He was a vice president of Lynn Insurance Group, where he worked for 37 years before retiring in 1987. Serving the Lord has been the primary focus of his life. He has served in various capacities over the years: as Sunday school teacher, youth leader, camp director, pastor of 3 different Christian schools, junior church pastor, and director of dramatic productions. He was a High Priest in the Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving as pastor, preacher, and also as a minister in the Lunch Partners program. John was a true family man, and is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mickey Pritchard; sister Betty Stowell and her husband Clarence of Independence; daughter Diana Galbraith and her husband Ben of Independence; daughter Dee Robinett and her husband Mel of Oak Grove; daughter Donna Browne and her husband Jim of Blue Springs; son John G. Pritchard and his wife Cindy of Independence; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and loyal dog Annie Lou. Funeral services will be Saturday 11:00 a.m. at The Gathering Place, 2820 S. 291 Highway Outer Road, Independence, MO, with visitation from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the same location, prior to the service. He will be laid to rest at Mound Grove Cemetery in Independence, MO.
