Maxine Pritchard

May 31, 1926 — August 19, 2013

Maxine G. “Mickey” Pritchard, 87, of Independence, MO., went to be with the Lord Jesus on Monday, August 19, 2013 from Lakewood Care Center. Mickey was born May 31, 1926 in the Independence Sanitarium and Hospital to Max and Lavetta Gould. Mickey graduated from Chrisman High School, attended Graceland College, and graduated from CMSU with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree.

Mickey was a sixth grade teacher at Alton Elementary and other schools in the Independence School District as well as the West Palm Beach Florida School District. Serving the Lord has been the primary focus of her life. She and her beloved husband John served in many capacities over their 63 years of marriage including: Sunday school teachers, junior church directors, youth leaders, camp directors, and Lunch Partners ministry.

Mickey was also an author and editor of numerous religious publications. Mickey was a loving wife and mother of four. She was preceded in death by her husband John L. Pritchard, sister Dorothy D. Thompson and son-in-law Jim Browne. She is survived by her daughter Diana Galbraith and husband Ben of Lee’s Summit; daughter Dee Robinett and husband Mel of Oak Grove; daughter Donna Browne of Blue Springs; son John G. Pritchard and wife Cindy of Independence; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Sunday, August 25th at 2:00pm at the Gathering Place, 2820 S. 291 Highway Outer Road, Independence, MO. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 24th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, 18020 E. 39th Street in Independence. Mickey will be laid to rest at 10:00am on Monday, August 26, 2013 at Mound Grove Cemetery in Independence, MO.
