On February 4, 2022 while at home with her husband and daughters Sandra reached out and accepted the hand of God. She is free again.
Sandra A. Williamson was born on March 13, 1940 in Higginsville, Missouri to Burt K. Williamson and Anna Elba Rhodes.
Sandra graduated from Fort Osage High School in 1958. She later graduated from the Grandview School of Cosmetology. She owned and operated her own hair salon and voluntarily became a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 2 so she could hang a union shop sign on her window.
At an early age she was introduced to Democratic politics by her father. As an adult she participated in more political campaigns than can be listed on this page.
She was a member of the Jackson County Democratic Committee for over 40 years, a member of the Missouri State Democratic Committee for many years, a member of the National Democratic Committee in Washington, DC for 16 years and several local Democratic clubs. During these years she met President Bill Clinton, Vice President Al Gore, President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, U.S. Senators, U.S. Congressman, Governors, Mayors, and many other prominent elected officials. She was a delegate to three Presidential inaugurations.
Sandra was a member of the St. Matthew Presbyterian Church in Grandview, MO. until its closing in 2020. She was an Elder and served on numerous church committees. She raised her children in God’s church.
Sandra was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt. Family was her main purpose in life. Don’t even ask, Christmas is at her house. Sandra loved people. When she would meet a stranger race, lifestyle, religions etc. didn’t matter she was looking for a new friend and she had many.
When she was 13 years old she met an old guy (15 years old) and that was it. Seven years later Keith Querry and Sandra Williamson were married October 1, 1960. They have two wonderful daughters, Ronda and Tricia.
Sandra is survived by her husband Keith; daughters, Ronda Rupp (Dennis) and Tricia Querry Salivitch (David); grandchildren, Marissa Goin (Matt), Allen Salivitch (Christen); great-grandchildren, Addyson, Sophia, Mattinglee, and Auleo.
Sandra is proceeded in death by her parents, infant sister Wanda Lee, aunts Elizabeth, Mary, and Audrey, and grandson Robert Bailey.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 11th from 6-9pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Missouri. Sandra’s funeral service will be on Saturday, February 12th at 10am at Buckner United Methodist Church in Buckner, Missouri with burial to immediately follow at Buckner Hill Cemetery.
