Robert Lee “Bob” Quillen, 73, of Independence, MO passed away October 2, 2019. Visitation will be 2-4 pm Sunday, October 6, 2019 at Speaks Suburban Chapel. Bob will be inurned at a future date in Missouri State Veteran’s Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Bob was born on April 12, 1946 in Blue Springs, MO to Charles and Elsie (Hendershot) Quillen. Bob proudly served his country with the Air Force during the View Nam War. He attended Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. For over 36 years, Bob was employed with Dean Machinery working at the parts counter. Bob has always loved cars and machines. In his younger days he raced cars and enjoyed working on them. He liked to watch NASCAR and was a collector of die cast NASCAR cars. Bob volunteered his time to Habitat for Humanity in Blue Springs for several years. He is survived by his sons Robert II and Jason Quillen, and many friends. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, brother Charles Quillen Jr, and sisters Anita Faye and Betty Quillen. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity.
