Forrest Russell Quinn, 80 of Independence, MO passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012 at his residence. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Avenue, Independence, MO 64052. Burial will follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the chapel. Forrest was born July 8, 1932 in Kansas City, MO to John and Grace (Thorpe) Quinn and has been a lifelong area resident. He had worked for many years as a truck driver for the Teamsters Local #41 in Kansas City until his retirement. He enjoyed bluegrass music and bowling and had once bowled a 300 game. He was a member of the Teamsters local #41 of Kansas City, MO and the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by; his wife, Betty of the home; 2 sons, Greg Quinn of Buckner, MO and Jack Quinn of Sugar Creek, MO; 2 daughters, Peggy Jackson of Sugar Creek, MO and Diana Hooper of Greenwood, MO; a sister, Dorothy Hartman of Milwaukee, OR; 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 4 step children. He was preceded in death by his first wife Betty in 2006.
