Alice Marie Quinones, 62, of Independence, MO, passed away, Monday, January 5, 2004 at Truman Medical Center. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday at the Speaks Suburban Chapel, with burial at 1:00 p.m., at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS. The family will greet friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Thursday at the chapel. Marie was born March 4, 1941 in Independence, MO to Edwin and Alice Ruby (Brockman) Shields and has lived in Independence most of her life. She had previously worked in the insurance industry before becoming disabled in 1985. She was married to Samuel Quinones; he preceded her in death in 1986. Survivors include; 4 sons, Jerry Quinones, Terry Quinones, Andrew Quinones and Scot Quinones all of Independence, MO; 4 brothers, Howard Shields of Hurst, TX, Tom Shields of Davenport, IA, Charles Shields of Kingsville, MO and Robert Shields of Independence, MO; 2 sisters, Shirley Everett of Kingsport, TN and Carolyn Woodford of Independence, MO. 5 grandchildren, Jason Pingleton, Gwen Quinones, Eric Quinones, Tamara Quinones and Samantha Quinones, and many nieces and nephews.
